Welcome to Chance Photographics. My name is Claire and I am a professional photographer based in New Beith, Brisbane QLD.

Photography has been my passion for many years. I spent a good while shooting all sorts of styles and subjects, weddings included, before I realised the work that lights me up most is photographing babies, children and their families, fur-children very much included.

​

People love to tell me that kids and animals are the two hardest things to photograph. They are not wrong. But I wouldn't have it any other way. A newborn who saves the biggest yawn for the exact moment you look away, a toddler who has decided the floor is lava, a dog photobombing the family shot — that's the good stuff, and I am here for all of it.

​

I am a mum of two boys myself, both of whom we were lucky enough to welcome through IVF, so I know exactly what it's like in the trenches. I know the getting-everyone-dressed chaos, the pre-session outfit change (or three), and the very real fear that the baby will do an enormous poo the second you clip the last button. If your little one melts down, refuses to smile or needs a feed halfway through, I have seen it all and it does not faze me one bit.

We keep the session moving, but there's always room for feeds, cuddles and the odd meltdown along the way.

For those not quite ready to leave the baby bubble, I also offer in-home newborn sessions. I bring a portable studio to you, set up in your own space, and you get all the comfort of home with none of the packing-the-car stress. I get it — sometimes you just want to stay put with your new little one, and that's more than okay.

​

My style of portraiture is natural, relaxed and fun, with pops of colour throughout. I mainly use flash lighting these days, which gives me beautiful, consistent results whatever the weather is doing outside (very handy in Brisbane). Sessions are held in my home studio, in your own home, in your hospital room or on location.

I pride myself on the personalised, friendly service I offer every client, for a genuinely boutique experience. From start to finish, every detail is handled in-house, so you walk away with beautiful photographs (and a lot less stress than you expected).
